The Sacramento County Office of Education is seeking a talented human resources professional to join our team!

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices of education in California. SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. SCOE provides technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, financial advice, and oversight to Sacramento County school districts.

Job Summary

As a member of our Human Resources team, the Senior Personnel Technician plays a pivotal role in the seamless execution of personnel functions critical to SCOE's operations. Under general supervision, you will undertake complex technical and clerical tasks encompassing recruitment, examination, employment, credential monitoring, and employee records maintenance. Your responsibilities include coordinating pre-employment processes, maintaining accurate personnel files, and facilitating substitute services. Upholding confidentiality and compliance standards, you will ensure the integrity of HR operations while providing exceptional support to our employees and stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary is $31.48 per hour with 5 annual incremental increases to $40.25 per hour.

This position includes benefit allowance of $1,169.58 per month for single health coverage, $1,844.58 for 2-party or $2,044.58 for family coverage, which includes medical, dental, life, vision, and TSA options.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of two years of training or experience in complex technical functions within personnel administration, particularly within an educational or governmental setting involving frequent public interaction.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong knowledge of personnel practices, recruitment procedures, and relevant regulations. Proficiency in various software applications, effective communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing multiple tasks independently are essential. Additionally, candidates should exhibit proficiency in research, record-keeping, and navigating complex legal and procedural frameworks related to personnel processes.

Length of Work Year: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 244 days per year
