JOB DESCRIPTION:
Teneral Cellars Company is seeking enthusiastic part-time sales people to join our team as Tasting Room Associates in our tasting room in Plymouth.
Our Tasting Room Associate candidates should be well-spoken and energetic sales professionals willing to conduct tours of the vineyard, as well as, educate our customers about the wines and the winery. Previous wine knowledge is ideal, but more importantly candidates must be passionate about wine and create a memorable experience for our visitors. Candidates should be well-spoken, hard-working, professional and able to work well with others. Above all they must demonstrate warmth and grace in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

Educate our visitors about the wines, winemaking techniques and winery history.

Assist customers in making selections by building customer confidence and by offering suggestions.

Contribute to group sales goals by accomplishing personal goals.

Greet and serve visitors in a friendly, gracious manner.

Promote Teneral Cellars wines by pouring and selling them and adjusting content of presentation based on customer’s personal interest, knowledge, and ability to purchase.

Promote the Wine Club.

Provide support for privately booked and winery sponsored events.

Develop and maintain professional and technical wine knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading industry publications, networking in the trade, and participating in professional groups.

Maintain and restock the tasting room.

Assist with inventory management.

Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

Achievement of retail goals, including sales, wine club sign-ups and data collection.

Conversion of guests to wine club members.

Accuracy of inventory management and other operational duties.
REPORTS TO: Tasting Room Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Skills, Experience, and Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prior retail sales or hospitality (hotel, event centers, restaurant) experience preferred.

Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills in English is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Professional demeanor with excellent customer service and organizational skills is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.

The ability to work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of detail and adhering to deadlines is required.

Must be capable of working independently and have the ability to take initiative and be self-directed.

Must possess a valid California Driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Can stand and sit for long periods of time.

Must be 21 years or older.

Must be available to work flexible schedule with weekends required.

Comfortable with both indoor and outdoor weather conditions (i.e., varying temperatures
