The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices of education in California. SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. SCOE provides technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, financial advice, and oversight to Sacramento County school districts.
 
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary is $36.66 an hour with 6 annual incremental increases to $46.83, plus benefits
Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, life, vision, and TSA options
Benefit allowance: $1,014.27 per month for single coverage, $1,639.27 for two-party, or $1,789.27 for family coverage
 
Job Summary
As a member of our Technology team, the Technology Support/Trainer plays a pivotal role in providing training and support to SCOE programs. Under general direction, the Technology Support/Trainer provides training and support with various software applications and related hardware, telecommunication, audio/visual equipment, and other peripheral equipment. Responsibilities include providing technical support and training for customers, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems, conducting technical training sessions for users of all skill levels, maintaining computer training labs, providing help desk assistance, installing and maintaining technology-related equipment, and evaluating and researching technology purchase requests.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. Coursework in computer science, information systems, network administration, or other related fields is preferred. Progressively responsible technical support or similar experience including troubleshooting and installing hardware, software, and other peripheral equipment is required. Experience working as help desk support or in a similar technical role and experience in training individuals and groups are essential. Technology certification is desirable.
Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of network infrastructure and security, various computer platforms and operating systems, and standard software applications. The ability to develop and present technical training, research technical sources of information to solve problems, analyze and diagnose malfunctions, and work independently and as a team member are essential. Additionally, candidates should exhibit excellent customer service practices and the ability to adapt to changes in technology.
