The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices of education in California. SCOE staff work year-round, providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. SCOE provides technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, financial advice, and oversight to Sacramento County school districts.
Salary and Benefits
Annual salary: $133, 302.08 (25/26)

Job Summary
The Network Administrator serves as a key technical specialist within SCOE's technology infrastructure team, performing specialized duties in support of network systems under general direction. In this role, you will ensure optimal performance and security of SCOE's Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and data center connectivity through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will support the design, configuration, and maintenance of critical network infrastructure, including wireless systems, firewalls, VOIP, and security applications, while collaborating with cybersecurity staff to maintain network security standards. Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with coursework in computer science, information systems, network administration, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. Technology certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, ACMA, or JNCIA are preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressively responsible technical experience, including networking, troubleshooting, and installing hardware and software, with professional experience working in a networking position or a similar technical role.
Candidates should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of network switch and router configurations, WAN and LAN technologies, protocols and architecture, wireless networking and network security, wiring standards and specifications, telecommunications terminology, network monitoring software, and basic Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems. Key abilities include quickly learning new technologies, diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical problems, adapting to technological changes, setting priorities and organizing work to meet deadlines, working independently with minimal direction, and effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences in clear, non-technical terms.
