Event Description:
The Sacramento Rainbow Chamber Business Exchange Network (SACBEN) provides a structured, open and welcoming forum for Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce members to increase their business opportunities through sharing of referrals. Every SACBEN member presents a 30-second introduction at each meeting, enabling them to hone their “elevator pitch” to perfection. SACBEN members are also invited to make a periodic 10-minute presentation to the group.

Featured Speaker June 4, 2019
Joel Hockman
CFO, Secretary/Treasurer
Pucci's Pharmacy
(916) 442-5891

Pucci's Pharmacy has been serving the Sacramento area for nearly 90 years. In 1930, Peter A. Pucci opened Homeland Pharmacy at 19th Street and Broadway. Two years later, Peter and his brother Dino opened Pucci's Pharmacy at 10th and J Street and moved Pucci’s Professional Pharmacy to 26th and I Streets in 1948, sensing that Sacramento would be expanding to the east of downtown. In 1979, Peter and Dino retired and sold their business to Tom and Linda Nelson. In 1991, the Nelsons moved Pucci's Pharmacy to its present location at 28th and J Street, which was formerly the home of Sims Hardware, a Sacramento institution in itself.

In 2016 Clint Hopkins was working at an independent pharmacy. He and his husband Joel Hockman owned a home senior care business. They were interested in community pharmacy ownership and learned from their financial planner about a potential seller quietly searching for a buyer.

They knew Pucci’s was the right fit from their first meeting with Tom. “While we were excited about each pharmacy we looked at, when we visited with Tom, we knew this was the community we wanted to be a part of. It mirrored our Dallas community - close knit, diverse population with strong personal relationships.

Since owning Pucci’s Joel and Clint have built personal relationships within the community to demonstrate the wide service offerings that an independent pharmacy offers. Compounding, delivery services, medication synchronization, automated medication refill requests, immunizations, Medicare open enrollment assistance, are just a few examples.

Check out our website for more details or contact us to discuss how you can become a part of the Pucci’s family. 916-442-5891

SACBEN Participation Commitment
  1. All SACBEN members must be a member in good standing of the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce and must maintain membership throughout the SACBEN semester. All policies held by the Rainbow Chamber of Commerce are applicable to this group.
  2. Be on time! Meeting begins promptly. Arriving 15 minutes after the start of the meeting, or later, will be considered an absence.
  3. A SACBEN member may be absent from a maximum of two SACBEN meetings per trimester. If a current member reaches 2 absences in a trimester, the Group Chairman shall contact the member to confirm that the member is aware of the group’s attendance requirements and ascertain what business and/or personal issues may be affecting that member’s meeting attendance. A third absence may result in termination from the SACBEN group for a period of no more than two trimesters. Reinstatement into the SACBEN group/program is subject to availability.
  4. Members are responsible for attendance and referral requirements. A replacement representative who must be from the SACBEN member’s business (a Chamber Member) is permissible. If the allowable number of absences is exceeded, the result will be loss of the member’s position in the SACBEN for two trimesters from the date of removal as noted above. For special circumstances a member of a SACBEN may be granted a leave of absence for the remainder of the semester. Each Group Chairman may use their discretion for issuing a leave of absence.
  5. All Members must operate according to the member policies (Code of Ethics, Anti-Harassment/Anti-Discrimination and Privacy) as posted on the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce website:
  6. Complaints about other members will not be discussed in the group forum. Issues between members must be dealt with privately. Chamber politics will not be discussed. The Group Chairman should be notified if a complaint exists and they should try to act as a moderator to assist with the problem or concern. If the Chairman is not able to resolve the issue, the problem or concern should be directed to the SACBEN Program Chair and, if necessary, the Chamber president.
  7. Each SACBEN Member is responsible for making sure that they have the proper tools for their presentation. If a SACBEN Member needs A/V equipment for a presentation, they must notify the group chair no less than 5 business days in advance of the meeting. Presenters should plan to arrive to the meeting at least 15 minutes early to set-up and test equipment.
  8. Multi-level marketing members and other companies offering a business opportunity are welcome to represent their products and services at the SACBEN meetings, but not the business opportunity element of their business.
